چکیده

Objective:, To evaluate tracheal intubation condition in adults after anesthetic coinduction with lidocaine and propofol and various doses of remifentanil. Materials and Methods:. In three groups, induction was compared with lidocaine (1.5 mg/kg), propofol (2 mg/kg), and three varing doses of remifentanil (0.5-1-2 μg/kg). Tracheal intubation was graded according to the ease of laryngoscopy, the position of vocal cords, coughing, jaw relaxation and the movement of limbs. Hemodynamic variables were compared during preoxygination and 45 seconds after induction. Results: There were 90 ASA I or ASA II patients with 30 in each group. Tracheal intubating condition was regarded as acceptable in 33%, 53% and 90% of patients in groups 1, 2 and 3 respectively. All three groups had a decrease in heart rate and mean arterial pressure after induction but this changes wasn’t clinically significant.

Effect of tracheal lidocaine on intubating conditions during propofol-remifentanil target-controlled infusion without neuromuscular blockade in day-case anesthesia

BACKGROUND Lidocaine is a useful intravenous and topical adjunct to facilitate tracheal intubation. We evaluated the effect of tracheal lidocaine on tracheal intubating conditions without neuromuscular blocking agent and hemodynamics during anesthesia induction with propofol and remifentanil target-controlled infusion (TCI). METHODS Fifty patients, aged 18-60 years, scheduled for closed reduc...

Intubating conditions and side effects of propofol, remifentanil and sevoflurane compared with propofol, remifentanil and rocuronium: a randomised, prospective, clinical trial

BACKGROUND Tracheal intubation without muscle relaxants is usually performed with remifentanil and propofol or sevoflurane. Remifentanil 1.0 to 4.0 μg·kg(-1) and propofol 2.0-3.0 mg·kg(-1) or sevoflurane up to 8.0 Vol% provide acceptable, i.e. excellent or good intubating conditions. We hypothesized that sevoflurane 1.0 MAC would provide acceptable intubating conditions when combined with propo...
